Synchronous Reluctance Motors

Similar to a squirrel cage induction motor but with a salient-pole rotor and no magnets. Speed follows input frequency, so it suits applications where accurate speed holding or synchronism between machines is critical. Developed by Mark Elektriks in the 1980s. Built in 4, 6 and 8 pole designs, IEC, NEMA or customer frames.

Applications: Glass making machinery, spinning metering pumps, feed rolls, friction rolls, synthetic fibre and textile lines

Supplied for

  • Glass making machinery, as a substitute for US and German motors
  • Spinning metering pump: 0.32/1.6 hp, 4 pole, 16 to 80 Hz, 54 to 220 V, NEMA 182 frame
  • Feed roll: 5 kW, 1500 rpm, 25 to 130 Hz, 110 to 572 V, 112 frame, TEFC
  • Friction roll: 0.625 hp, 1500 rpm, 40 to 120 Hz, NEMA 42 frame, TESC
